TSSWCB works in conjunction with local SWCDs to encourage the wise and productive use of natural resources. Jerry D. Nichols, Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB) Member has retired after many years of loyal dedication to Texas Soil and Water Conservation Districts. During Nichol’s 15 years on the board, including 2 years as Chairman, TSSWCB has continued to grow its reputation for excellence. In 2003, he was elected to the State Board to represent Area IV which is made up of 52 counties in East Texas. What We Do
The TSSWCB is the lead state agency for the planning, management, and abatement of agricultural and silvicultural (forestry) nonpoint source water pollution, and administers the Water Supply Enhancement Program. The TSSWCB maintains regional offices in strategic locations in the State to help carry out the agency’s responsibilities.
