Plum Creek Watershed Partnership to hold stakeholder meeting August 14 at Kyle City Hall

LOCKHART - The Plum Creek Watershed Partnership (Partnership) welcomes the public to participate in our next quarterly stakeholder meeting set for August 14, 2014, at Kyle City Hall. Kyle City Hall is located at 100 West Center Street in Kyle, Texas. Sign in begins at 6:00 p.m. with food and refreshments to be provided for all meeting attendees. The meeting is free and open to the public. RSVPs are appreciated but not required.

The meeting will kick off with a welcome from the City of Kyle at 6:30 p.m. followed by presentations from Nick Dornak, Plum Creek Watershed Coordinator, and Troy Freeman, Caldwell-Travis Soil and Water Conservation District Technician. Freeman will deliver a presentation detailing opportunities available to watershed landowners seeking technical and/or financial assistance for agricultural operations through the development of site-specific Water Quality Management Plans. Dornak will discuss current and future projects in the watershed with topics ranging from low-impact development to feral swine management. Upon the conclusion of meeting presentations, the Partnership Steering Committee will be briefed on final revisions to the Draft 2014 Update to the Plum Creek Watershed Protection Plan with a vote scheduled to approve the draft or recommend additional changes.

"We are excited that this quarter’s Partnership meeting will be hosted by the City of Kyle. The Plum Creek watershed and Kyle, in particular, are undergoing a period of unprecedented growth with many residents new to the watershed and the watershed protection planning process. If you live, give, or work in the Plum Creek watershed and have a desire to join the wonderful community of stakeholders working to restore water quality in Plum Creek, this is definitely the meeting you should attend," said Dornak.
