Cyrier to address Plum Creek watershed stakeholders on August 13

UHLAND - The Plum Creek Watershed Partnership (Partnership) welcomes the public to participate in our next stakeholder meeting set for August 13, 2015 at the Uhland Community Center.

The Uhland Community Center is located at 15 North Old Spanish Trail, Uhland, Texas. Sign-in begins at 6:00 p.m. with food and refreshments to be provided for all meeting attendees by the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority. The meeting is free and open to the public. RSVPs are appreciated but not required.

"If you have an interest in the Plum Creek watershed and a desire to join your community of stakeholders working to restore water quality in Plum Creek, this is definitely the meeting you should attend," said Nick Dornak, Plum Creek Watershed Coordinator.

The meeting will kick off with a welcome from the City of Uhland at 6:30 p.m. followed by an update from Dornak on the state of current watershed projects in Caldwell and Hays Counties. The keynote speaker for the evening will be Rep. John P. Cyrier (R), Texas House District 17.

"Water is one of the most significant issues facing our part of Texas and I look forward to sharing about the important strides we are making in the Texas Legislature to better protect our local groundwater," said Representative Cyrier.

Funding for the development and support of the Plum Creek Watershed Protection Plan is through a Clean Water Act grant provided by the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
