Coordinating Implementation of the Leon River Watershed Protection Plan

Project Goals/Objectives

This project will facilitate and continue implementation of the Leon River WPP and foster coordinated assistance activities between the Cities, Counties, TSSWCB, local SWCDs, NRCS, and members of the Leon River WSC by providing a local presence in the Leon River Watershed. 

Project Location: Leon River watershed below Proctor Lake and above Belton Lake in Comanche, Hamilton, Erath, Coryell, Mills, and Bell Counties

Project Cost: Federal ($191,552); Non-Federal Match ($127,701); Total Project ($319,253)

Project Participant(s): Texas State Soil & Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB), Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas A&M Natural Resources Institute, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas Water Resources Institute
