Continued Implementation of Agricultural Nonpoint Source Components of the Leon Watershed Protection Plan

Project Goals/Objectives: One district technician will be hired to provide technical assistance to agricultural producers for the development of Water Quality Management Plans (WQMPs). In addition, the district technician will promote educational programs about water quality issues while fostering coordinated technical assistance to agricultural producers.

Project Location: The Leon River Watershed below Proctor Lake and above Belton Lake in Comanche, Hamilton, Erath, Coryell, Mills and Bell Counties

Project Costs: Federal ($168,225); Non-Federal ($0); Total Project ($168,225)

Project Partners: TSSWCB, Hamilton-Coryell SWCD #506, Upper Leon SWCD #525, USDA NRCS, Texas A&M NRI, Leon River Watershed Steering Committee
